Welcome to the second edition of the new Nightingale News! This will be a weekly newsletter published on the school website.

What’s been happening in school?

  • Year 5 have been enjoying their Bikeability sessions this week! They have been taking part in sessions on the playground thinking about road safety, turning and stopping.

  • A group of Year 6 children have taken part in some new and exciting maths tutoring using AI! They have had a session working 1:1 developing their skills and knowledge.

  • On Friday 16th January the children enjoyed the Pop-Up bookshop! Every child in school was able to choose two books to take home and keep.

We had a visitor in school on Thursday looking at Phonics. She was so impressed with our Reception and Year 1 children, how they are learning their sounds, blending and word reading. Keep it up Reception and Year 1!

Year 3 have been learning about the artist Henri Matisse. Why not ask your child how they recreated his artwork?

Parent Bookshop

Come and join us on Tuesday 27th January in the Community Room between 3.30pm and 4pm. There will be lots of books for you to choose from - each family can choose 2 books to take home and keep.

Individual Photo Day

On Wednesday 28th January it is photo day at school! Make sure your children are in their school uniforms and in school on this day so they don’t miss their chance to have their photo taken!
