It’s been another busy week here at Nightingale!

What’s been happening in school?

  • We loved celebrating African World Heritage Day on Tuesday 5th May! We had a special whole school assembly where we found out lots about our children’s heritage and culture. Thank you to Miss Mukasa for leading the assembly for us.

  • Year 3 have been identifying fossils into groups- trace fossils, animal fossils and plant fossils. Super science everyone!

  • Year 6 have been revising hard ahead of their SATs next week.

Year 6 SATs Week

Good luck to all our year 6 children who will be taking their end of Key Stage 2 tests next week! We know that you are going to do brilliantly.

A reminder that year 6 SATs breakfast is on Monday - Thursday at 8.20am in the hall.

Pantomime

On Friday 22nd May the Pantomime is coming to Nightingale! This will be our end of Summer 1 attendance and behaviour reward for those children who come to school and show their best behaviour. Make sure you are in school on this day so you don’t miss out!

Skill Builder

This week’s skill of the week has been Creativity. The children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 read a story called ‘Let’s Imagine’ all about a girl called Izzy who loves to use her imagination!

Attendance

Our attendance target is 96%. We want your children to be in school ALL DAY EVERYDAY! School is open between 8.45am and 3.30pm Monday - Friday. Whatever the weather, we want your children to be in school learning and doing all the great activities the teachers are planning.

The highest attendance classes this week have been:

In Early Years: Sparrows with 95.65%

In KS1: Robins with 94.71%

In years 3 and 4: Herons with 92.92%

In years 5 and 6: Tortoises with 92.83%
