What’s been happening in school?

  • It was wonderful to see so many families at the Pop-Up bookshop in the hall after school on Thursday. We loved seeing the children choosing books to take home and enjoy!

  • It has been Assessment Week in school this week. Well done to all the pupils in years 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 who have been showing off all they have learnt so far this year.

  • In Monday’s assembly we learnt about the Big Green Week - this is celebrated every year by people all over the country who want to look after our planet. The children in school were set the challenge of recycling all paper and card from their classrooms into the recycling bins.

Skill Builder

This week’s skill has been Listening. One of our school Golden Rules is to listen to all adults and to follow instructions the first time we are asked.

This week’s book recommendation

The Boy who Grew Dragons by Andy Shepherd is a perfect book for years 3 and 4. It is a funny story about a boy whose dragon fruit in his garden starts to hatch!

Here is a link to a section of the book available online: https://www.masefield.bolton.sch.uk/assets/Fluency/The_Boy_Who_Grew_Dragons_Extract.pdf
