These will be held weather permitting. On the day of your child’s sports day, please ensure they come to school in the appropriate sports kit. Children must be wearing trainers on their feet in order to complete the races on the field. Please ensure your child comes to school with a hat and is wearing sun cream, if it is a warm day.

During the event, each class will be partaking in activities such as: a running race, egg and spoon race, sack race and bean bag on head race. A water station will be set up to ensure that there is enough water for each child to have a drink after each race. We will also be joined by Leeds United mascot ‘Kopcat’.

Sports Day will be held on the field. Please enter the school grounds from the Florence Street gate where a member of staff will register your attendance. In order to safeguard our children, entry through any other point will not be allowed.

No pictures are allowed on the site during the events. Class teachers and supporting adults will take pictures. There will be an opportunity to take pictures of your child following the sports day.

Skill Builder

This week’s Skill of the Week has been Problem Solving. In Celebration Assembly we heard about lots of children who have been persevering, not giving up and finding solutions to problems when they have been tricky. Well done team Nightingale!

This week’s book recommendation

Moving Up by Christian Foley is a great book for the year 6 children moving up to High School. From choosing your new school and your first day all the way up to your final exams and your leaving party or prom, this handy guide book will be the perfect companion for transitioning to secondary, and get you feeling confident, building strong friendships, achieving great things and generally being the greatest that you can be.
