Welcome to the first edition of the new Nightingale News! This will be a weekly newsletter published on the school website.
What’s been happening in school?
The children were welcomed back on Monday 6th January with an assembly with Miss Lewis. All the children in school have set themselves a New Year’s Resolution! Our resolutions included being an excellent friend, improving handwriting and being a role model! Great target setting everyone!

Year 6 Tests:
The children in year 6 have been working really hard at some practice tests. Well done for all your hard work, year 6 and keep it up!
Reception Visit:
Courtney from Little Feet came to visit Reception this week. She brought her friend Strider to tell us all about being healthy, walking to school and road safety. We practised being safe, stopping, looking and listening when we are walking. Courtney left each class with a map to complete. Everytime we walk to school we can add a sticker. We are now having a competition between classes to see who can walk more first!
What are we learning about this half term?

School Uniform
Pupils should not be wearing jewellery, jeans, hoodies or clothes with logos. If pupils wear any of these items, we will be providing an item of uniform to wear for the day. Just as sports fans wear a team's colours to show their support, wearing school uniforms increases and encourages loyalty to a school. We have created some uniform slips (an example of these are included below) to support the uniform expected of the pupils. We will send this to notify parents/carers of how you can support your child with their uniform and sense of belonging in school. If you need to discuss any support around uniform, please speak with a member of our pastoral/safeguarding team. Please also remember that your child is expected to bring in the correct PE kit (as shown below) on their PE day.
Attendance
We want your child to be in school all day every day! If you would like any support in getting your child into school on time, please let a member of the team know.

Chat and Choose
Come and join us in the Community Room on a Thursday morning between 9am and 11am for Chat and Choose. There will be an opportunity for you to have a hot drink, choose from the community fridge and chat with people from our school community.
