Parents Evening Information
I am writing to inform you of important changes the Academy is making to our parent evening meetings which will take place on Tuesday 5th March and Wednesday 6th March.
As an Academy we are always looking at ways to improve communications with parents and we value the opportunity to speak to parents and carers face to face. Parent evenings are an important opportunity for us to communicate with you on educational achievements, goals and general information about your child’s behaviours and learning habits. We have made the following changes which we hope will improve your experience during these meetings.
How we intend to improve parents evenings
-
In the past we have offered a 5 minute meeting slot but we feel that this really limits the amount of information that we can share so we intend to double the amount of time we offer and we will now be offering 10 minute slots.
-
Previously we have offered only one evening for parents, this has now increased to two dates to provide as much flexibility as possible to you.
-
Parent consultations will now take place in the main hall which will enable parents with multiple children in school to easily transition between teachers.
-
We have online translation services available to staff and parents who will benefit from these services.
-
Senior leaders and SEND support staff will also be at hand in the hall if you wish to catch up with them.
-
Finally this parents evening we have also asked our catering team to supply food samples to all parents who attend face to face so that you can experience the types of foods your child may be offered if they take up the offer of school dinners at the Academy.
Sign up sheets will be available on your child’s classroom door as of Wednesday 28th so we do hope that you will make an appointment. If you are unable to sign up in person feel free to give us a call and we will do our best to secure an appointment at an available time.
We hope that these changes help to improve your experience as a parent /carer at Nightingale and we will welcome feedback from you.
